Ammonium Iodide Tablets
Description
By adding a release agent (Ammonium Iodide) to the melt the surface tension is increased. This reduces the surface area of the bead in contact with the crucible. This facilitates the release of the fluid melt from the crucible, ensuring less hang-up of the melt and making crucible cleaning easier. Iodides are a preferable release agent to bromides, since Br Lα interferes with Al Kα. Beads formed using ammonium iodide tablets have a neutral or positive meniscus, reducing the probability of bead fracture and also reducing sharp edges. Bead curvature, a significant contributor to reading error, is also reduced. XRF scientific ammonium iodide tablets are manufactured under controlled conditions to ensure quality and consistency. They have been formulated based on XRF Scientific’s extensive experience with platinum ware, flux and machine design to ensure optimal performance across a range of conditions.
Key Benefits
- Increased throughput and success rate due to smoother bead release process
- Reduced damage to platinum ware due to forced bead release
- Reduced crucible cleaning requirements
- Improved measurement performance due to increased bead flatness and consistency
